NEW ARRIVAL
A high quality London bracket clock featuring a double fusee movement with repeat.
The round painted dial displays Roman numerals, blued steel hands, strike/silent lever above number XII and the makers name Matthew Thomson of London.
The substantial double fusee movement features an anchor escapement, strikes the hours on a bell and repeats the last hour on demand. The backplate is also engraved with the makers name and place of work.
The mahogany veneered case is of the Chamfer type style and stands on bun feet, with brass fish scale frets to the side and brass triangular inserts to the front elevation.
A very good example of mid 19th century Clockmaking.
