A fine mahogany wheel barometer with an unusual rounded top pediment.
The case is veneered with mahogany and ebony/boxwood edge inlay. The front of the case also features oval and circular inlaid shells.
The main dial has a main reading of 28 to 31 inches and with the usual weather indications from Stormy to Very Dry. The centre of the dial is signed by the maker F. Molton of St Lawrence Steps, Norwich. The barometer reading can be recorded using the central brass set hand. Also with a thermometer which measures from 20 to 110 degrees.
A fine example by this collectable Instrument Maker.
