The epitome of Regency elegance and style in the form of an ebonised Chamfer Top bracket clock.
The majority of bracket clocks in this style were normally veneered in rosewood and mahogany. This particular example is veneered with fruitwood and then finished with many layers of black ebonised polish.
The 8 day movement features a strike/silent mechanism, repeat and the hours are struck on a single bell.
The white painted dial is beautifully signed by the maker John Berguer of the Strand (London). The Berguer Clockmaking family were originally based in Switzerland.
The restoration on this clock has just been completed and it’s now available to purchase.
