A good quality Scottish longcase clock.

The 8 day duration movement striking the hours on a bell and with painted arched dial showing seconds and date and with well painted flowers, including Roses to each corner and the arch. The mahogany case with very rich flame veneers to both trunk door and base and with boxwood stringing. The hood with reeded and brass capped pillars. The swan neck top with typical Scottish satinwood panels, brass paterea and an eagle finial.

Note: There are several makers listed during the first half of the 19th century by the name of Macfarlane or McFarlane. This clock could have been made by Robert Macfarlane who was working in Perth in C.1830.
