An exceptional quality mahogany stick barometer by this Royal Instrument Maker.

The aslant silvered brass scales calibrated from 27 to 31 inches with sliding vernier controlled via the ebony set key below the main dial. The thermometer calibrated from 10 to 100 Degrees Fahrenheit. The very slim and elegant flame mahogany veneered case inlaid with thick ebony stringing to the edge and a turned cistern cover to the base with transportation screw. The simple moulded pediment set above the main dial. A highly desirable instrument.

Note: Jacob Abraham was working in Bath from 1805 to 1841. He also owned premises in Cheltenham. He is listed as an important Maker and was Instrument Maker to the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Wellington. This barometer is of a very high quality both in the materials used and workmanship but also the unusual slim case design.
