A well proportioned oak antique grandfather clock.
The 8 day duration movement striking the hours on a bell. The 12" square full brass dial with Roman Numerals and Arabic minutes to the engraved chapter ring, sunken seconds, date dial and makers name to the silvered brass centre. The corners with brass spandrels. The blued steel hands with unusual heart design to the hour hand. The dark oak case with long trunk door and plain base with single plinth. The hood with angle pillars with wooden capitals to the glazed hood door and flat top with original sound fret.
Note: There were several William Glovers working in the Midlands area during the latter part of the 18th century. From the style of case, dial and movement we believe that this clock is by William Glover of Worcester.
