Breitling Top Time Wristwatch - C.1967

Just Arrived - March 2023

A highly desirable model from the famous Breitling brand featuring a Chronograph and Tachymeter scale for measuring the average speed of a motor car, or indeed an aeroplane. 

The Top Time model was introduced in the early 1960’s. This particular example was made in 1967 according to the serial number. Here are some extracts from the original advertising portfolio. 

‘The Chronograph is no longer a specialist's timepiece. It has become the watch for younger people.’

‘A watch that will impress the boys' - a watch that is both impressive and really elegant.’

The movement has been fully serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months. The case has been cleaned but left unpolished. There are some minor scratches and dents throughout but considering this watch is now 56 years old they completely acceptable. The case could indeed be polished but we feel that this would totally remove its past life and experiences. 

The dial is in almost mint condition. The crown has been replaced with a period and genuine Breitling example. A leather Rally strap by Hirsch has been fitted which certainly compliments the style of the watch.

An elegant example now ready to be worn and enjoyed by the next generation. Perhaps by the owner of a Classic car from the 1960’s.
