An impressive gilded brass carriage clock striking the hours and the half hour on a gong. Also with alarm and repeat.
The dial with an engraved fretwork mask surrounding the main dial which features Arabic numerals. The case with fluted columns to each corner and and a folding handle to the top. There are bevelled glasses to all sides to view the movement, including the top of the case to view the escapement.
A beautiful example that would grace either a fireplace, desk or sideboard. With the alarm feature it could also be used as a bedroom clock.
Note: Although quite recently re-gilded there are still some signs of the past 120 years throughout the case.
